Marriott To Launch St. Regis & AC Hotels In Qiandao Lake, China By 2026

Marriott International, Inc. has recently confirmed an agreement with Zhejiang Wanhao Wanjia Group to develop two properties in Qiandao Lake, situated in the eastern region of China’s Zhejiang Province. Anticipated to open by December 2026, The St. Regis Qiandao Lake and AC Hotel by Marriott Qiandao Lake will merge the distinctive luxury of the St. Regis brand with its timeless heritage alongside AC Hotels’ contemporary design and intuitive service. These establishments will grace a renowned destination celebrated for its expansive blue-green waters speckled with over 1,078 islands across 573 square kilometers of pristine natural beauty.

Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer of Marriott International for Greater China, expressed excitement about this collaboration with Zhejiang Wanhao Wanjia Group, highlighting the endeavor as part of their strategy to deliver top-tier brands and experiences to guests across diverse locations. The introduction of St. Regis and AC Hotels by Marriott to the captivating landscapes of Qiandao Lake aims to solidify Marriott’s presence in Hangzhou while granting visitors access to an undiscovered yet breathtaking destination.

The St. Regis Qiandao Lake will be situated atop Tianyu Mountain in Chun’an county, offering panoramic views of Qiandao Lake, Longshan, and Meifeng islands. Designed by the acclaimed Bill Bensley, the resort will comprise 80 guestrooms, suites, and 36 villas, including a presidential villa with an outdoor pool and sun deck. The property will boast signature culinary venues, leisure spaces like The St. Regis Spa, a kid’s club, fitness facilities, and meeting spaces, embodying the hallmark St. Regis Butler service and exclusive experiences tailored to the locale.

Meanwhile, the AC Hotel by Marriott Qiandao Lake, positioned on Chunyang Road overlooking the scenic greenway, will offer 185 contemporary guestrooms and suites. Emphasizing modern design, the hotel will feature dining options such as the AC Kitchen and AC Lounge, alongside amenities like a Kid’s Club, AC Store, Fitness Center, and meeting rooms. This establishment aims to provide visitors with a comfortable and sophisticated stay amid the charms of Qiandao Lake.

Chairman Deyong Kong of Zhejiang Wanhao Wanjia Group expressed delight in collaborating with Marriott International to introduce these prestigious brands to Qiandao Lake, envisioning elevated hospitality experiences for guests exploring this beautiful region of China.
