Marriott to open Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels in Beijing CNCC

Marriott partners with Beijing North Star for two new hotels in Beijing, opening 2026: The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Marquis at CNCC Phase II.

Marriott International, Inc. recently declared a strategic collaboration with Beijing North Star Company Limited, heralding the inauguration of the third The Ritz-Carlton and the debut Marriott Marquis Hotel in Beijing. Slated for a 2026 opening, The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North aims to offer its signature sophisticated service and design, attracting both local and international guests. Meanwhile, the Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel will be situated at China National Convention Center Phase II, a sprawling complex encompassing hotels, retail spaces, offices, leisure amenities, and extensive areas for major conferences, exhibitions, and events.

Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer for Greater China at Marriott International, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Beijing North Star Company Limited. He highlighted that this collaboration is in line with the company’s ‘Brand + Destination’ growth strategy and signifies Marriott’s ongoing expansion in significant Chinese urban centers. The company is keen to introduce a diverse array of its top brands and experiences to locations highly sought after by travelers.

China National Convention Center Phase II is a vast development, covering approximately 780,000 square meters and featuring a mix of hotels, retail outlets, offices, recreational facilities, and ample space for high-profile conferences, exhibitions, and events. The hotels, a key part of the China National Convention Center Phase II, are situated roughly 20 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport. Nearby attractions include the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest), the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube), and China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, all within a short walk.

Internationally renowned Yabu Pushlberg Inc. has been chosen to design The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North, which is expected to house 282 tastefully designed guestrooms and suites. The hotel will boast six unique dining venues, along with recreational amenities like an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, and The Ritz-Carlton Spa. It will also offer comprehensive conference and event facilities, totaling 968 square meters.

The Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel, on the other hand, is set to feature 671 guestrooms and suites. Culinary options will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a casual lobby bar and lounge (The Greatroom). The hotel will also have a swimming pool and fitness center, along with extensive conference and event space of 3,207 square meters, including a Grand Ballroom, two Junior Ballrooms, three meeting rooms, and an executive club lounge – M Club. Guests can look forward to the Marriott Hotels’ renowned heartfelt service, modern design, and a blend of leisure and business amenities.

Weidong Li, Chairman of the Board at Beijing North Star Company Limited, shared his excitement about partnering with Marriott International to introduce these two prestigious brands to China National Convention Center Phase II. He emphasized that this project marks a significant step in their aim to foster innovation through strategic partnerships. They are eager to provide an unparalleled level of accommodation and service to both visitors and local residents.
