From March 15th to March 20th, O’Hara’s adventure will take her from the bustling capital of Reykjavík to the breathtaking glaciers, ice caves, and iceberg resting places near Jökulsárlón. Her expedition blends art with environmental activism, aiming to raise awareness about the critical need for protecting our oceans. After meeting with Canadian Ambassador to Iceland, Jeannette Menzies, O’Hara will explore Iceland’s icy terrains and engage in discussions on climate change. Baffin has equipped O’Hara with everything she needs for her expedition, including high-performance winter boots, cold-weather gear, rubber boots, and hybrid slippers for her various activities.

O’Hara’s previous engagements include serving as the Artist-in-Residence aboard the Polar Prince during an Ocean Conservation Expedition with the SOI Foundation, participating in a delegation to Antarctica to study the effects of climate change, and being the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at the Canadian Ice Core Lab. Her work has been recognized and celebrated with several awards, including the BCBusiness 30 Under 30 and Woman of the Year.
