Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, a prominent hotel owner, operator, and investor with 560 properties across 58 countries in regions such as Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Indian Ocean, is reinforcing its dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship through its Up for Planet initiative. To commemorate Earth Hour, the brand will take a symbolic step towards environmental awareness.
On Saturday, March 22, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., NH Hotels, NH Collection, and Avani hotels in Mexico will participate by switching off their lights and setting up decorations to honor the occasion. This action aims to engage both guests and staff in recognizing the importance of reducing environmental footprints.

This effort is part of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas’ broader sustainability goals under the Up for Planet program. The initiative seeks to reduce the environmental impact of its operations while promoting responsible travel. A key aspect of this program is the Greenstay initiative, which encourages guests to contribute to energy and water conservation efforts, rewarding them with a complimentary drink at the bar for their participation.
If you’re staying for more than one night, you have the option to choose whether to have your room cleaned or skip it to lessen your environmental footprint. Simply hang the Greenstay sign on your door before midnight, and you’ll be rewarded with a drink voucher as a token of appreciation.
