MSC Cruises has introduced a new initiative called the “Open Booking” program, enabling passengers to reserve a future cruise while currently sailing without specifying a particular ship, itinerary, or date. Under this program, guests can secure their booking with a reduced deposit of $100 per person and are granted a certificate valid for up to 12 months, allowing them to decide on their next cruise at their convenience.

Moreover, guests stand to benefit from onboard credit incentives. If they opt for a specific ship and departure date within 60 days of making their onboard open booking, they can receive up to $200 onboard credit per cabin. Alternatively, they still qualify for up to $100 in onboard credit if they finalize their booking within one year.

Additionally, the open booking option extends to being a thoughtful gift for family or friends, providing them with the flexibility to select the most suitable ship and sail date for their preferences.

Koreen McNutt, SVP of Sales & Trade Engagement and Commercial Sales Officer, MSC Cruises USA, said: “We want to offer our guests more flexibility in choosing their next ship and sailing date, and the Open Booking program gives guests onboard up to a year to make that decision while earning future credit for their next vacation at sea.”

Passengers making new future bookings onboard can now take advantage of an extended ‘best price guarantee’ period and increased flexibility in selecting a sailing date before final payment. They’ll have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of cabins and suites and can combine their open booking with most promotional offers. Additionally, members of the MSC Voyagers Club loyalty program can earn double points and often combine their booking discount with other promotions.

On MSC Cruises’ ships, guests can access itinerary details and exclusive offers through dedicated Future Cruise teams. Each new future cruise reservation will trigger an email confirmation to the guest’s original travel agent. Moreover, travel agents who originally booked the cruise will receive full commission once the ship and sail date are confirmed, further benefiting from the Open Booking program.
