Every year, Disneyland Paris hosts Halloween celebrations, and this year they have created a new event, the Disney Halloween Festival. This event puts various Disney Villains in the spotlight. In previous years, Halloween events centered around Mickey and his friends. This year, along with the usual decorations, Disneyland Paris has added fantastical, theatrical and suspenseful decorations and designs.

The new edition moves beyond traditional pumpkin displays and autumn themes, creating a world inspired by the legendary villains from Disney classics. From the moment visitors arrive at Main Street Station, the atmosphere changes with stunning Tiffany-style stained-glass designs that reveal the takeover of the park by some of Disney’s most famous villains.

The festival represents a new creative direction for Disneyland Paris, combining Halloween traditions with the dramatic visual language of Disney animation. Every corner has been redesigned to create a mysterious environment where guests can discover hidden details, capture memorable photos and experience the darker side of Disney storytelling.

Disney Villains Become The Heart Of Disneyland Paris Halloween Transformation

The latest Disney Halloween Festival was developed around a central idea: bringing Disney Villains back into the spotlight. Instead of focusing only on classic Halloween symbols, the creative vision explores the powerful personalities, dramatic worlds and unforgettable scenes associated with characters such as Maleficent, the Evil Queen and other legendary villains.

The design approach takes inspiration from Disney animated classics where villains create some of the most visually striking moments. These scenes often feature deep shadows, dramatic landscapes, mysterious forests and unusual shapes, creating the perfect foundation for a Halloween celebration.

The new festival design introduces a stronger visual identity with darker artistic elements. Twisted forms, dramatic silhouettes and powerful contrasts create an environment that feels both magical and mysterious. Traditional Halloween features such as forests, night skies, thorn-covered landscapes and living objects have been reimagined through the distinctive style of Disney Villain storytelling.

The colour palette also plays a major role in creating the new atmosphere. Inspired by villain scenes from Disney films, the decorations combine shades of green, purple, turquoise, grey, black and Halloween orange. Together, these colours create a unique visual experience that blends the mystery of Disney villains with the excitement of the Halloween season.

Haunted Decorations Bring A New Villainous Atmosphere To Disneyland Park

One of the most noticeable additions is the transformation of Théâtre du Château, located near Sleeping Beauty Castle. The area has been redesigned as a mysterious haunted setting where different Disney Villains can naturally exist within the same world.

The location does not represent one specific animated film. Instead, it creates a shared environment inspired by the common visual elements found across Disney Villain stories. Dark stone structures, glowing purple details and dramatic decorations give the area a nighttime appearance filled with mystery.

Visitors can discover hidden references throughout the space, including dragon-inspired details connected to Maleficent and designs influenced by famous Disney animated moments. Climbing vegetation, unusual textures and carefully designed backgrounds help make the setting feel alive.

The area itself becomes part of the storytelling experience. Guests can explore the environment, discover villain-inspired details and enjoy the atmosphere even beyond character encounters.

Candles Pumpkins And Lights Create A Magical Halloween Experience

Lighting plays a major role in this year’s Halloween transformation. More than 130 candles have been added throughout the park, including around 60 placed on the roof of Main Street Station. Their warm glow creates a dramatic contrast with the darker villain-inspired decorations.

Candles have become one of the signature features of the new celebration, bringing a classic Halloween feeling while adding a sophisticated theatrical touch. Many designs include references to popular Disney characters, creating playful details throughout Main Street.

Around 40 specially designed pumpkins also contribute to the seasonal atmosphere. These decorations combine traditional Halloween imagery with Disney creativity, adding charm and character to the park’s streets and buildings.

As evening arrives, the combination of candlelight, colourful decorations and themed lighting transforms Disneyland Park into a completely different world.

Victorian Halloween Style Adds Elegance To Main Street USA

Main Street USA has received a special Victorian-inspired Halloween makeover, adding elegant details that match the historic style of the area. Decorative banners, hanging ornaments and themed street elements create a connection between traditional Victorian celebrations and Disney fantasy.

The street lamps feature Mickey-inspired designs created with acanthus leaf patterns, a decorative style commonly associated with historic architecture. These details have been adapted with Halloween colours, including blue, green and turquoise highlights.

A major attraction for visitors is the collection of villain silhouettes displayed on the lamp posts. Inspired by traditional silhouette artwork, these decorations showcase ten Disney Villains incorporated into the design of Main Street.

Characters with dramatic personalities fit naturally into the Victorian environment, adding a unique combination of elegance, mystery and Halloween storytelling.

Disneyland Paris Expands The Unlucky Nugget Saloon Halloween Experience

Beyond Main Street USA, Frontierland has also received a major Halloween transformation. The popular Lucky Nugget Saloon has once again become The Unlucky Nugget Saloon, inspired by the mysterious world of Phantom Manor.

Following strong guest interest, the experience has been expanded with new decorations, additional themed areas and enhanced storytelling elements. The first floor now features a portrait gallery filled with references designed to delight fans of Phantom Manor.

The restaurant environment has been developed around the unfinished wedding story connected to Melanie Ravenswood, creating a dramatic setting filled with forgotten memories and mysterious details.

New lighting effects, sound elements and decorative additions strengthen the atmosphere. Guests can discover an abandoned wedding guestbook, aged decorations and hidden references that continue the Phantom Manor-inspired story.

Nearby areas in Thunder Mesa have also joined the celebration. Last Chance Cafe now features wedding-themed decorations, including aged banners and floral elements connected to the unfinished Ravenswood celebration.

A wedding arch covered with flowers adds another visual highlight, showing the contrast between the original joyful plans and the mysterious fate surrounding the event.

Creative Teams And Artisans Build A New Disneyland Paris Halloween Story

The creation of the new Halloween Festival required collaboration between Disneyland Paris teams and specialist workshops. A significant part of the decorations was produced by the resort’s own creative departments, while external workshops contributed additional craftsmanship and technical expertise.

The large decorative medallion displayed at Main Street Station represents one of the major centrepieces of the transformation. Its production involved specialist craftsmanship and careful attention to detail to ensure it matched the overall artistic direction.

Lighting was also a key consideration during production. Decorative elements needed to maintain their colours and appearance both during daylight and when illuminated at night.

Once all elements were completed, installation took place overnight to prepare the park before the festival opening. The transformation required around two weeks of preparation to ensure every detail was ready for visitors.

Disneyland Paris Creates A New Future For Halloween Celebrations

The new Disney Halloween Festival marks the beginning of a wider evolution for seasonal events at Disneyland Paris. The current transformation introduces a larger story that can continue developing in future years.

With every pumpkin, candle, silhouette and hidden detail contributing to the larger narrative, Disneyland Paris is creating a Halloween experience designed not only for seasonal entertainment but also for long-term storytelling.

The result is a darker, more immersive and visually powerful celebration where Disney magic meets the mystery of Halloween, giving travellers a completely new reason to visit the park during the autumn season.
