NAV CANADA’s December 2023 traffic up by 8.3%

Today, NAV CANADA disclosed its December 2023 traffic statistics, quantified in weighted charging units for enroute, terminal, and oceanic air navigation services, in contrast to the previous year. In December 2023, the average weighted charging units were 8.3 percent higher compared to the corresponding month in 2022.

Weighted charging units serve as a metric for assessing traffic, taking into account billable flights, aircraft dimensions, and distances covered within Canadian airspace. This metric is pivotal for movement-based service charges, constituting the predominant portion of the company’s air traffic revenue.
