The senior director of PR and Publicity, at the Tourism Board of Nepal, Nandini Lahe-Thapa, tourist arrivals in the country have grown tremendously in the last few months. This is very positive and hopeful news for everyone.

In 2023, the tourism board calculated that almost 1.2 million arrivals of tourists are expected, an equivalent to the arrivals this country welcomed in 2020.

She emphasized that they are no longer aiming on the conventional places like Pokhara, Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Lumbini.

In eastern and western Nepal, she added that five-star properties are coming up soon.

Thapa also said that new hotels are being built in the Himalayan nation with lots of activities related to tourism are coming up with new cable cars.

Thapa also mentioned that they are very hopeful in terms of tourism’s prospects in the country post-Covid era. At the end of the year, they are hoping to attract 1.2 million tourists by air, which they had welcomed in 2020.

The market of India has been doing great after the pandemic. Many Indians are visiting Nepal for vacation, she said.

Wherever one goes, these days, Indian number plate vehicles can always be seen in Nepal, Thapa said.
