New Directors of Sales and Events Appointed at Grand Geneva Resort

The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, part of the Marcus® Hotels & Resorts collection, is delighted to announce the addition of Dan Crooker as the new Executive Director of Sales and Julia Ippolito as the Director of Events.

Dan Crooker brings a wealth of experience from his 18-year tenure in the hospitality sector to his new position at Grand Geneva. Tasked with driving the sales team towards greater innovation and excellence, Crooker will spearhead strategic sales initiatives and oversee the exciting final touches of the resort’s meeting space overhaul.

Before his arrival at Grand Geneva, Crooker played a pivotal role as the general manager of The Landmark Resort, Door County Wisconsin’s premier resort destination. His career also includes significant stints in leadership across various renowned four-season resorts, such as Boyne’s Sunday River Resort in Maine and Powdr’s Snowbird Resort in Utah, marking a triumphant return to his Midwestern roots.

“I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to join such a great team at Grand Geneva and look forward to helping continue the success that has already been achieved,” shared Crooker. “My wife, Kate, and I are currently relocating to the area and look forward to enjoying all the Lake Geneva community has to offer.” Having first experienced the resort as a guest in the early 90s, as an avid runner, biker, skier, golfer, and outdoor enthusiast, Crooker’s personal passions align well with Grand Geneva’s experiences. 

Julia Ippolito, who grew up in Lake Geneva, joins the team with an impressive background in hospitality and event planning. As the Director of Events, she is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of event execution, catering and beverage services for group gatherings, weddings, and the overall entertainment and program planning across the sprawling 1,300-acre property.

“I’m thrilled to bring my event knowledge and experience back home to Lake Geneva,” shared Ippolito. “I am honored to be a part of the team and contribute to the resort’s legacy of delivering exceptional events.”

Ippolito’s journey in the event management realm commenced at Levy Restaurants within the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA, contributing to the success of eminent events like The Grammy Awards and The Emmy Awards. Her career flourished in California, leading to her eventual return to the Midwest. Before joining the Grand Geneva team, she was integral to the operations at Levy Restaurants at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, aiding in the orchestration of major events, including the celebrations for the Milwaukee Bucks Championship.
