Norwegian Viva’s upgrade sets new cruise standards

Norwegian Cruise Line has informed guests booked on the Norwegian Viva that the ship will undergo significant enhancements as it makes its trans-Atlantic journey from Puerto Rico to Lisbon, Portugal, starting April 7, 2024. The 19-night repositioning cruise aims to improve the onboard experience significantly. The cruise line has disclosed plans to close several onboard areas during the voyage to facilitate these enhancements.

In a commitment to providing exceptional vacation experiences globally and maintaining a high standard across its fleet, Norwegian Cruise Line stated that the Norwegian Viva is set to receive upgrades during the crossing. Notable enhancements include the transformation of the Speedway Bar into a new space called Entourage, specifically designed for teenagers aged 13 to 17, to socialize. Additionally, the Galaxy Pavilion, a virtual reality complex on the ship, will also see upgrades.

To accommodate these improvements, various attractions such as The Bull’s Eye, Tee Time (mini-golf), The Stadium, The Wave, and a section of the Galaxy Pavilion will be temporarily unavailable to guests. However, Norwegian Cruise Line has indicated that if these venues are completed ahead of schedule, they will reopen them for guest enjoyment during the voyage.

Despite these temporary closures, the cruise line assures that there will be ample entertainment and activities onboard. Guests can still enjoy attractions including the Speedway, The Drop, The Rush, and the Aqua Park.

Norwegian Cruise Line extends its apologies for any inconvenience caused by these enhancements and reassures guests that the team is dedicated to delivering an unforgettable vacation experience.

Having been constructed by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and inaugurated into service in August 2023, the Norwegian Viva is completing its first winter season in the Caribbean before embarking on its summer season in the Mediterranean. These upgrades are poised to elevate the global travel and cruise tourism industry by setting new benchmarks in onboard entertainment and guest experiences.
