As the danger of coronavirus infection is gradually falling down and vaccination is gaining momentum, now several countries in the world have reopened their borders for travelers from abroad, including Indians. Several months of start-stop restrictions have damaged air industry as well as travel industry. These restrictions completely disrupted lives of foreign students and workers. Many countries like France and Spain have opened their international doors to vaccinated Indians travelers only.
Sri Lanka
In its recent guidelines related to travel, this island nation has permitted fully vaccinated travelers from India to enter. As per the reports, Sri Lanka will allow anyone from India, provided they have taken both the doses of either Covaxin or Covishield vaccine.
Turkey
Few weeks ago, Turkey allowed Indian travelers. Currently, it has made the quarantine rules easy for Indians. Starting September 4th, from mandatory quarantine, Indian passengers were exempted provided they have been fully inoculated using COVID vaccines approved for emergency use by WHO or the Turkish administration. Covishield has only been allowed by WHO as of now, while Turkish health officials have okayed Sputnik.
Switzerland
Switzerland, a tourism dependent country, was Europe’s first country to reopen its doors for Indian tourists. As per the reports, on arrival, passengers who have received both the jabs of Covishield will not be required to undergo quarantine.
