Okuma Beach Festival ignites Okinawa’s Summer season

As April’s warmth envelops Okinawa, the island transforms into a summery paradise, inviting both locals and tourists to the eagerly awaited Okuma Beach Festival. This annual event, celebrated for igniting the beach season, is scheduled for April 20-21, offering a vibrant mix of live music, entertaining activities, and a festive atmosphere from noon to 10 p.m. each day.

Highlighting the festival is the performance of Wayne Wonder, the renowned Jamaican reggae artist, whose hits like “No Letting Go” and “Bounce Along” will feature on April 21 at 6:45 p.m., promising an evening filled with rhythmic beats and melodies.

The festival lineup boasts an impressive array of talent, including notable Japanese and Okinawan artists such as Kariyushi 58 and HY, celebrated for their star-pop/rock contributions, alongside pop-rock sensation Takanori Nishikawa.
