The renowned Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in California, known for its supreme spa amenities and destination offerings, is set to introduce comprehensive renovations that embody the essence of the La Costa Lifestyle. Drawing inspiration from the timeless beauty of Spanish-style architecture, the eagerly awaited redesign will reimagine the resort’s vast 400 acres as a beacon of luxury, marked by serene elegance.

This latest transformation will only further embody the ‘La Costa Lifestyle’ that is embedded throughout the resort’s grounds,” said Craig Martin, Managing Director at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. “Since its opening in 1965, the resort has been a glamorous refuge for Hollywood’s elite; this new phase of renovation is poised to uphold the property’s longstanding position as a world-class destination for generations to come.”
Scheduled for unveiling in early Summer 2024, the renovation will uplift every aspect of the resort, including its accommodations, spa, and championship golf courses, blending the resort’s rich history with contemporary luxury. The redesign follows a significant update in 2021, refreshing the lobby, bar, the Costa De La Luna ballroom, and meeting spaces, marking a new stage in a three-year renovation project.
A distinguished design team is spearheading a remarkable refresh of the guest rooms, the acclaimed spa, and the Coastal Events Center, ensuring a top-tier experience for guests and redefining luxury and sophistication.
More than 500 guest accommodations, ranging from villas and suites to presidential suites, will showcase a new aesthetic that marries tradition with modernity. This includes airy spaces, soft textures, and neutral colors, along with classic details like hand-painted tiles and wrought ironwork, creating a uniquely La Costa ambiance. Enhanced accommodations will feature Resort Rooms, Golf View and 1-Bedroom Suites, with select suites near the Garden Pool offering a secluded, boutique experience, all while preserving the charm of Spanish colonial and mid-century design. The villas, ranging from studio to three-bedroom configurations, will also receive a modern makeover.
Since 1965, the Spa at La Costa has been a sanctuary for luxury and wellness enthusiasts. Its renovation will introduce tranquil new areas for relaxation and rejuvenation, incorporating luxury salt rooms, upgraded steam rooms with aromatherapy enhancements, and modernized facilities. The spa’s decor will feature vintage artwork, honoring Omni La Costa’s storied past as a retreat for notable figures like Richard Nixon and Jackie Kennedy.
The golf facilities at the resort, reimagined by acclaimed designer Gil Hanse, will experience a significant overhaul, heralding a new era for this iconic golf destination. Starting in May 2024, the renovated Champions Course will host three consecutive NCAA Division I Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships, showcasing the resort’s commitment to excellence in golf.
Furthermore, as the resort with the largest meeting space in the western U.S., Omni La Costa’s event facilities will undergo expansions and enhancements, including the Costa de la Luna and the Coastal Events Center, providing an ideal setting for memorable events that foster creativity and collaboration. Following the debut of the Costa de la Luna and event lawn in 2021, the resort will continue to expand its event spaces into 2024, offering over 100,000 square feet of versatile venues.
