Oakland International Airport anticipates welcoming over 1 million global travelers from March 15 to April 15, a period expected to see increased activity due to spring break vacations. This forecast is a 3 percent rise from the passenger numbers recorded during the same timeframe last year. With spring break observed by most educational institutions in the San Francisco East Bay from mid-March to mid-April, the airport advises travelers to arrive early and secure parking reservations in advance for a smoother experience.

“Oakland International Airport welcomes spring break 2024 travelers,” says Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. “We encourage passengers to pay a visit to new concessions that are available in our terminals, and to plan ahead during this busy travel period.”

To streamline their airport experience, passengers are advised to check in for flights online through their airline’s website or app before arriving. It’s also important to verify flight statuses to avoid unexpected delays or cancellations. The MyTSA app offers valuable information on TSA wait times and provides packing advice. The airport suggests arriving a minimum of two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international ones for a hassle-free journey.
