Penang Business Events celebrates record-breaking year in 2023 annual review

The 2023 Annual Review is a key event, capturing the essence of the numerous events Penang hosted last year. It will highlight the sector’s impressive growth, backed by compelling data and insightful analysis. Distinguished guests, including Penang’s Chief Minister, YAB Chow Kon Yeow; YB Wong Hon Wai of the Penang State Exco for Tourism & Creative Economy (PETACE); and Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s CEO, Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, will offer their perspectives on the thriving Business Events scene in Penang.

Penang’s achievement in hosting a record 604 events in 2023, nearly tripling the previous year’s count, is a testament to its success. These events have significantly boosted the state’s economy, generating an estimated economic impact of RM1,033,856,600.
