Mr. Oba, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the hospitality sector, is set to bring his extensive expertise and a steadfast dedication to excellence to the forefront of his new role.

Before joining The Peninsula Bangkok, Mr. Oba held significant leadership positions across various prestigious Peninsula properties in Asia. His impressive career trajectory includes roles such as General Manager at The Peninsula Manila, Hotel Manager at The Peninsula Hong Kong, Resident Manager at The Peninsula Tokyo, and Executive Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage at The Peninsula Shanghai.

This extensive experience across different cultures and markets underlines his versatile leadership abilities and deep understanding of the luxury hospitality industry.

Educationally, Mr. Oba is well-prepared for his role, having graduated from the Japan Hotel School and completed the esteemed Hotel Management Program at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. His career, significantly intertwined with The Peninsula Hotels for 17 of his 20+ years in the industry, demonstrates a profound allegiance and dedication to the brand’s values and standards of excellence.

Apart from his professional achievements, Mr. Oba is a person of varied interests, including a keen appreciation for wine, a passion for travel, and a love for football, reflecting his well-rounded personality and approach to life.
