Philippine Airlines and American Airlines have initiated a codeshare alliance, introducing the inaugural Philippine carrier-marketed flights to various U.S. destinations and enabling American Airlines customers to explore Manila, the “Pearl of the Orient,” as well as the stunning beaches of Cebu.
American Airlines patrons can now make reservations on aa.com for codeshare flights managed by Philippine Airlines, connecting to Manila and Cebu through Tokyo. Furthermore, travelers will have the option to journey to Manila from Honolulu and Guam.
Anmol Bhargava, American’s Vice President of Global Alliances and Partnerships, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing that it provides their customers with smooth access to Manila, the region’s capital and economic center, and Cebu, the gateway to numerous pristine tropical islands. He also acknowledged the Philippines’ robust economic growth and expressed a desire to expand their collaboration with Philippine Airlines.
Philippine Airlines has affixed its “PR” code to American Airlines’ routes connecting Los Angeles to seven U.S. cities: Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, and Washington, D.C., facilitating excellent connectivity with PAL’s trans-Pacific services.
Eric David Anderson, PAL’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented that this partnership with American Airlines offers passengers more options for traveling between Asia and the United States, aligning with PAL’s long-term strategy to expand its global presence and create more opportunities for travelers to explore the Philippines.
Philippine Airlines currently operates two daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles, daily flights to San Francisco, and multiple weekly flights to New York, Honolulu, and Guam.
