President asks the winners of beauty pageant to promote tourism

President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, has requested Farhana Nariswari Wisandana, the 2023 Puteri Indonesia beauty pageant winner, and finalists to assist them in promoting country’s tourist destinations, on Monday, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, said this.

Princesses of Putri Indonesia have been requested to advertise various destinations in every way possible; he said this at the Presidential Palace here after escorting the President to a briefing with the winner as well as the finalists of Puteri Indonesia 2023.

Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, one of Indonesia’s super-priority destinations, was promoted during the 42nd ASEAN Summit arranged on May 10 th and 11 th , 2023.

The President, according to him, said that Puteri Indonesia Princesses will have to promote many super-priority places in the coming days like Mandalika, Lake Toba, Borobudur and Likupang.

Besides, other tourist destinations, like the Seribu Islands, Bangka Belitung, Wakatobi, and Raja Ampat, will be promoted as well by the Puteri Indonesia winner and the finalists of the competition.

Uno said that the younger generation is hoped to create awareness regarding various creative economy products, starting right from fashion, culinary to crafts as well as tourist destinations.

He said that the winner and finalists of the beauty pageant have just returned from Lampung after getting brief idea about tourist destinations and its local creative economy products.

So, he said he thinks that they can carry out the responsibility of promoting Indonesian tourism rightly.
