The eclipse reached its greatest duration near 65°50′ north and 25°29′ west. At that location, totality lasted approximately two minutes and 18.2 seconds.
NASA’s geographical summary identifies the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland and Spain as the principal areas crossed by totality. Other parts of Europe, North America and Africa could observe different levels of partial coverage.

Its totality corridor is expected to cross Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia. A broad partial eclipse will also be visible across other areas of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Atlas plans to include an astronomy expert, scientific presentations, live commentary and protective viewing glasses. The final experience will still depend on weather, sea conditions and the yacht’s position on the day.
The company’s future celestial programme also includes a total lunar eclipse. Atlas Adventurer is scheduled to undertake a 14-night Bangkok-to-Bali voyage beginning on 23 December 2028.
The proposed itinerary places the yacht in Singapore as the total lunar eclipse unfolds across New Year’s Eve and the first hours of 2029. Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse can be viewed safely without special eye protection.
A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon. Sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere can give the lunar surface a copper or deep-red appearance.
This sailing is expected to form part of Atlas Adventurer’s inaugural season. As with every astronomical voyage, cloud cover could prevent observation even when the vessel reaches the intended geographical position.

The 2026 deployment illustrates this strategy. Three relatively small expedition vessels were positioned across separate regions while passengers followed the same celestial event from different landscapes.
