Qatar Airways and AFC’s new global partnership

Qatar Airways Group and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have entered into a global partnership aimed at revolutionizing the fan experience in upcoming Asian football competitions.

Effective from 2023 to 2029, the partnership will debut with the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023TM, commencing on January 12. It encompasses various key competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027TM, AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026TM, AFC U23 Asian CupTM Qatar 2024, AFC Futsal Asian CupTM 2024, 2026, and 2028, as well as all AFC youth national team competitions during the specified period.

Qatar Airways’ sponsorship extends to the AFC Champions LeagueTM 2023/24 Knockout Stage and introduces support for new AFC flagship club competitions starting from the 2024/25 season: the AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Women’s Champions League, and the AFC Champions League 2.

The airline’s leisure division, Qatar Airways Holidays, is launching travel packages enabling global fans to attend the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023TM. These packages include return flights, hotel options, and match tickets, providing an immersive experience for passionate fans across the continent. Privilege Club members can accrue Avios and Qpoints on these travel packages, with the option to book online using Cash + Avios.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the shared commitment to connecting people globally and promoting sportsmanship. He highlighted the airline’s role in creating thrilling football moments, starting with the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023TM.

AFC General Secretary, Datuk Seri Windsor John, welcomed Qatar Airways as the AFC’s newest partner, underscoring the partnership’s aim to enhance the sports experience for fans worldwide and expand the global footprint of AFC competitions.

This partnership, managed by Asia Football Group (AFG), AFC’s commercial agency for 2023-2028, reinforces Qatar Airways Group’s dedication to connecting the world through sports. As the host nation of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023TM, Qatar is set to host fans from across the continent, with the B12 Beach Club serving as a hub for international and local fans to enjoy screenings, live music, and various events during the tournament.
