The annual ‘Tree Lighting Ceremony’ at Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay Mamallapuram took place on December 1, 2023, featuring a distinctive Wooden Christmas Tree crafted from repurposed washed-up wood and fallen branches.

Shabin Sarvotham, Senior General Manager of Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay, inaugurated the event in the presence of esteemed socialites from Chennai. Speaking on the occasion, Sarvotham expressed, “It is a joy to embrace the holiday spirit by coming together to appreciate the eagerly anticipated Christmas tree adorned with lights and colors, spreading hope and joy.”

The tree, constructed from fallen branches and washed-up wood, exemplifies an excellent approach to recycling and utilizing natural resources. Following the ceremony, a high tea with delectable Christmas treats was served. The event featured a choir performance by the United Pentecostal Church, enchanting the audience with some of their best songs and filling the air with laughter as everyone welcomed the holiday season.

The festivities showcased freshly baked seasonal delights such as rich plum cakes, Christmas goodies, stolen breads, and hand-rolled chocolates, available for guests to purchase as gift hampers from the hotel’s Christmas Chalet sampling suite. The culinary team of the hotel presented a delectable tasting menu featuring unique small plates, farm-fresh charcuterie, and hot canapés for all attendees.
