Osamah Al-Nuwaiser, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Riyadh Air, disclosed plans for the airline to announce an expansion of its fleet in the near future as part of its strategic initiative to diversify and grow. This expansion is considered vital for Riyadh Air to reach its objectives in the aviation and travel industry, emphasizing the importance of integrating aircraft from various sources. Al-Nuwaiser noted that any future mergers or acquisitions would undergo thorough internal, technical, and commercial evaluations.

Riyadh Air is set to welcome its first aircraft in the initial quarter of 2025, with the remaining 38 aircraft to be delivered sequentially within the same year, bringing the total to 39. These aircraft will undergo comprehensive testing, including crew and pilot evaluations in collaboration with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and other pertinent bodies.

Al-Nuwaiser further mentioned that Riyadh Air would reveal its initial destinations in the first half of the year and intends to disclose its in-flight services and products within the current year.

The airline was founded in March 2023 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, under the sponsorship of the Public Investment Fund, aiming to bolster the aviation sector’s growth and reinforce the kingdom’s strategic global position, as reported by Argaam.

By 2030, Riyadh Air aims to operate flights to over 100 global destinations. Following its establishment, it made its inaugural fleet order by purchasing 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
