Riyadh hosts Gulf Film Festival: A global cinema showcase

Riyadh is preparing to host the fourth iteration of the Gulf Film Festival in April, a significant event set to bring together talents from the regional cinema industry for a comprehensive exhibition.

Under the esteemed guidance of Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud, the Saudi Minister of Culture and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Commission, the festival is poised to take place from April 14 to April 18.

Aiming to Enhance Regional Cinema and Encourage International Collaboration

The Gulf Film Festival is designed with a twofold objective: to support the development of the regional film sector and to encourage international artistic collaboration. Its goals are to cultivate local talent, uphold and celebrate the values of the Gulf, and strengthen cultural identities.

Highlighting Regional Creative Talent

An array of 29 films from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will be featured in the competitive segment of the festival. Beyond film screenings, the festival will pay tribute to veteran actors for their significant contributions to the cinema of the Gulf region. Additionally, it will offer workshops and seminars that delve into both the social and artistic facets of filmmaking.

Celebrating Cinematic Achievements

Competing for esteemed awards in several categories, including those for short and feature films, screenplays, soundtracks, and acting, filmmakers will have the opportunity to showcase their work. This festival acts as a crucial platform for recognizing and honoring the outstanding achievements in Gulf cinema.
