Streamsong beats Pebble Beach and Pinehurst to become America’s best golf holiday for value. Its low hotel prices, quality courses and reliable conditions give golfers a compelling reason to look beyond icons.
Streamsong beats Pebble Beach and Pinehurst to become America’s best golf holiday for value, according to a 2026 Foresight Sports study. The result is striking because all three destinations carry major reputations among golfers. However, Streamsong wins by combining course quality, accessibility, playable weather, online demand and accommodation costs. Its median hotel price is just $89 per night, giving it a major value advantage.
Meanwhile, Pebble Beach and Pinehurst remain premium choices with exceptional golf credentials. Yet Streamsong proves that America’s best golf holiday does not always need the biggest name. Instead, value, quality and convenience can create the stronger overall experience.
Florida’s Streamsong takes top spot as America’s favourite golf destination for affordable luxury in 2026. The destination has taken the top spot because golfers can combine quality courses, favourable weather, manageable demand and affordable accommodation in one trip.

Meanwhile, America’s favourite golf destination ranking puts Streamsong ahead of famous names such as Pebble Beach, Pinehurst and Las Vegas. The affordable luxury equation is particularly striking: hotel rooms are listed at a median $89 per night. As a result, Streamsong’s 100-point Golf Vacation Index highlights how value can challenge prestige. The finding also gives golfers a fresh reason to look beyond America’s traditional golf icons.
Florida’s Streamsong has emerged as the strongest overall golf holiday destination in the United States, according to a 2026 study by golf simulator company Foresight Sports.
The destination achieved a perfect 100/100 Golf Vacation Index score, putting it ahead of Pebble Beach and Monterey, Pinehurst, Las Vegas and Maui.
What makes the result notable is that Streamsong does not win simply because of elite golf. Its strength comes from the balance between golf quality, access, weather, accommodation costs and consumer interest.
The study assessed destinations using five core factors: course quality, course supply, golf-playable climate, hotel pricing and online demand. Rather than measuring broad tourism popularity, Foresight Sports examined monthly Google searches specifically associated with golf holidays.
That approach produces a ranking focused more closely on the practical experience of planning a golf trip.
Streamsong recorded a Course Quality Score of 448, alongside 8,100 average monthly golf-related searches. The destination also recorded 249 playable golf days annually and a median hotel price of only $89 per night.
The study indicates that the wider Streamsong area offers substantial golfing choice, including publicly accessible courses and nationally recognised layouts.
The relatively modest level of online demand also matters. Streamsong attracts fewer golf-related searches than several of its better-known competitors, potentially suggesting a less saturated destination experience.
For travellers, however, the biggest differentiator may be accommodation cost.
An $89 median nightly hotel price is dramatically below the figures recorded in several competing destinations. Pinehurst, for example, has a median hotel price of $214, while San Diego and Carlsbad reach $224. Hilton Head Island is considerably higher at $420.
This does not mean every Streamsong stay will cost $89. Hotel rates vary according to dates, availability, property type and demand. Nevertheless, the study identifies Streamsong as the most affordable destination among the leading options assessed.
Pebble Beach and Monterey rank second, scoring 97.4.
The Californian destination records a Course Quality Score of 460 and 9,900 average monthly golf searches. It also offers 265 golf-playable days per year, exceeding Streamsong’s 249.
The area has approximately 30 golf courses, with a significant share publicly accessible. Five courses are also represented among nationally ranked layouts, according to the study.
Accommodation remains comparatively accessible within the ranking, with a median hotel price of $136 per night and 65 accommodation options recorded.
However, Pebble Beach carries a powerful premium associated with its reputation and setting.
Foresight Sports noted that a single round at Pebble Beach can cost around $600. The company argued that golfers are paying not only for world-class golf, but also for the Pacific Ocean setting and the destination’s bucket-list status.
That distinction is important for travellers comparing golf value rather than simply chasing prestige.
Pinehurst ranks third with a 92.4 Golf Vacation Index score and records the highest Course Quality Score in the study, at 618.
The North Carolina destination has 43 golf courses identified as easily accessible, including six nationally ranked courses. Its strong golf credentials therefore remain a major part of its appeal.
Pinehurst also records 248 playable days annually, almost identical to Streamsong.
The trade-off is accommodation. The study puts the median hotel price at $214 per night, substantially higher than Streamsong and above Pebble Beach and Monterey.
For serious golfers, the higher cost may still be justified by the concentration of recognised courses and the destination’s established golf identity.
Las Vegas ranks fourth with a Golf Vacation Index score of 90.3.
The city has 59 golf courses, including 43 that are not restricted to private access, according to the study. It also has three nationally ranked courses and more than 750 accommodation options near golf facilities.
With a median hotel price of $157 per night and 235 playable golf days, Las Vegas offers scale and convenience alongside its wider entertainment appeal.
Maui, meanwhile, takes fifth place with an 88.5 score. Its strongest advantage is climate.
The Hawaiian destination records 290 playable golf days annually, the second-highest figure in the top 10. Thirteen of its 20 courses are described as readily bookable by tourists, while two feature among nationally ranked US courses.
Its median hotel price of $116 also makes Maui comparatively competitive within this particular ranking.
San Diego and Carlsbad rank sixth, but their climate makes them particularly interesting for golf travellers.
The destination records 313 playable days per year, the highest figure among the top 10 destinations.
That reliability can be commercially important for golf tourism. A golfer booking a multi-day trip has limited flexibility if rain disrupts a planned round.
Foresight Sports highlighted this issue, arguing that reliable weather can matter more to a golfer than a spectacular view when a trip depends on securing several playable days.
San Diego and Carlsbad also offer 55 destination-grade courses, although the Course Quality Score of 75 is considerably lower than Pinehurst, Pebble Beach and Streamsong.
One of the study’s most revealing findings concerns St. George, Utah.
Although it ranks seventh overall with an 84.9 Golf Vacation Index score, St. George generates 12,100 average monthly golf searches, the highest figure among the destinations listed.
Its hotel median is $120, while golfers have 215 playable days annually.
The result demonstrates that popularity alone does not determine the best golf destination. A destination can generate substantial consumer interest but rank below a competitor because of differences in climate, accommodation pricing, course quality or accessibility.
The 2026 Golf Vacation Index suggests that the definition of a successful golf destination is becoming broader.
Prestige remains important, particularly for destinations such as Pebble Beach and Pinehurst. Yet affordability, weather reliability and course access can substantially change the value equation.
Streamsong’s victory is therefore less about replacing iconic destinations and more about demonstrating that golfers have multiple ways to define a high-quality holiday.
For travel advisers, golf operators and destination marketers, the findings also reinforce the importance of packaging the complete trip rather than selling a course alone.
A destination with strong golf, reliable weather, accessible courses and reasonably priced accommodation can offer a more predictable holiday proposition.
For travellers, the lesson is straightforward: the most famous golf destination is not automatically the best-value golf destination.
The 2026 Golf Vacation Index puts Florida’s Streamsong at the top of America’s golf holiday landscape, but the ranking reveals more than a new winner. Streamsong combines a strong Course Quality Score, 249 playable days, accessible golf and a remarkably low $89 median hotel price. Pebble Beach and Monterey remain powerful choices for golfers seeking prestige and 265 playable days, while Pinehurst leads on measured course quality.
Las Vegas offers scale, Maui delivers exceptional weather, and San Diego and Carlsbad provide the strongest climate reliability with 313 playable days. St. George attracts the greatest online search interest, proving that demand alone does not guarantee first place. Ultimately, the study shows that value in golf tourism is increasingly defined by the whole journey: course quality, access, weather, accommodation and booking confidence. For travellers planning future golf holidays, comparing these factors can produce a smarter trip without automatically paying for the most famous name.
The cause behind Streamsong’s victory is its unusually balanced proposition. The destination does not dominate every individual category, but it performs strongly across the factors that influence a golf holiday. The answer is therefore not simply better golf; it is better overall value. A golfer can access quality courses, enjoy 249 playable days and find accommodation at a median $89 per night. The reason this matters is that golf trips involve more than tee-time quality. Hotel costs, weather, accessibility and course choice can determine whether a holiday delivers value. Foresight Sports’ methodology captures those practical considerations, explaining why Streamsong can outrank more prestigious destinations.
“Streamsong’s position at the top of this ranking is a powerful reminder that modern golf tourism is no longer driven by prestige alone. Golfers increasingly want quality, accessibility, reliable playing conditions and sensible accommodation costs in the same trip. Streamsong’s performance shows how a destination can compete with iconic names by delivering a well-rounded proposition. The wider ranking is equally important for the travel industry because it highlights different reasons for choosing different destinations. Pebble Beach offers legendary status, Pinehurst delivers exceptional course quality, Maui stands out for its climate, while San Diego and Carlsbad offer remarkable weather reliability. For golf travellers and travel advisers, these findings provide a useful framework for comparing destinations based on the complete holiday experience rather than reputation alone. This is precisely where data-driven destination analysis can help travellers make smarter, more informed decisions.” says, Anup Kumar Keshan
The cause behind Streamsong’s rise is its balanced performance across the factors that shape a golf holiday. The answer is straightforward: golfers can access quality courses, enjoy favourable playing conditions and stay at comparatively affordable prices. Its $89 median hotel rate creates a substantial advantage over Pinehurst and other premium destinations. The reason Streamsong beats Pebble Beach and Pinehurst is therefore broader than course quality alone. A successful golf holiday also depends on accommodation, accessibility, climate and the ability to enjoy several rounds without excessive costs. Foresight Sports’ index captures these elements together, making Streamsong’s victory a reflection of overall value rather than simple golfing prestige.
