SAS Embarks on New Journey: Joins Forces with SkyTeam for Global Expansion

SAS is thrilled to share updates on the evolving landscape of its future partnerships. The airline will continue its affiliation with Star Alliance until August 31, 2024. Starting September 1, 2024, passengers will begin to reap the advantages of alliances with the majority of SkyTeam’s airlines.

From September 1, 2024, SAS EuroBonus members will transition to enjoying loyalty benefits with most airlines within the SkyTeam alliance, mirroring the perks currently available through Star Alliance connections.

SAS is making significant strides in discussions with SkyTeam and several of its airlines to forge strong commercial ties. This collaboration aims to offer our passengers access to an additional 19 airlines and over 1,060 global destinations. This expansion means customers will continue to enjoy their preferred locations, along with new travel possibilities to areas not previously covered.

SAS has been diligently working with both Star Alliance and SkyTeam, along with their respective member airlines, over the past six months to guarantee a fluid transition for customers and EuroBonus members. All Star Alliance customer benefits, including the accrual and redemption of EuroBonus points, lounge access, and additional journey enhancements, will remain valid through August 31, 2024. Post-departure from Star Alliance, the EuroBonus program will continue to serve as SAS’s loyalty scheme.
