As part of SAS summer program for 2024, the North American network will welcome a new destination. Commencing on June 17th, SAS will initiate daily nonstop service connecting Copenhagen to Atlanta.
In addition to introducing the new destination, SAS is enhancing its frequencies to the US this summer. The Copenhagen-New York (JFK) route will see an increase to up to two daily flights, complementing the existing daily flights to New York-Newark Airport from Stockholm, Oslo, and Copenhagen. Flights from Copenhagen to Boston will operate daily, up from six times a week during the summer season. Moreover, a fourth weekly flight will be introduced from Copenhagen to Toronto.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with nearly 94 million passengers in 2022, holds the title of the world’s busiest and most efficient airport. The proximity to the Port of Savannah, the largest and fastest-growing container terminal in America, is expected to play a significant role in cargo transportation for this route.
Through a collaboration with Delta Air Lines, passengers can seamlessly continue their journey to other Delta-served destinations from Atlanta. This expansion broadens the offerings for SAS passengers, providing access to new and exciting destinations across the Southern USA, Caribbean, and Latin America, all conveniently reachable from Atlanta, as noted by SAS President & CEO, Anko van der Werff.

SAS has also entered into codeshare agreements with EL AL Israel Airlines in early June 2023, effective from February, and with Etihad Airways in October. These agreements enhance connectivity for passengers, granting access to a diverse array of destinations. Currently, SAS has 18 codeshare agreements with various carriers globally.
In summary, SAS’ North American destinations for the upcoming summer program include Atlanta (ATL), New York (EWR & JFK), Chicago (ORD), Boston (BOS), Washington D.C. (IAD), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Miami (MIA) until April 7th, along with the addition of a fourth weekly flight to Toronto (YYZ).
