SATSA warmly welcomes the newly appointed members of the South African Tourism Board (SAT). We take great pride in the appointments of three individuals with strong connections to SATSA: Rachel Nxele, our esteemed Vice Chairperson; Jonathan Gadiah, a valued SATSA member and CEO of Thompsons Africa; and Judi Nwokedi, another respected SATSA member who serves as Group Chief Sustainability Officer at Tourvest Integrated Tourism Group.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to P Lawsen Naidoo, Siza Mzimela, Miller Matola, and Tumelo Selikane on their appointments, as announced by Minister Patricia de Lille.

The inclusion of Rachel, Judi, and Jonathan on the Board ensures robust representation of the private sector’s perspective, which is vital for the development and implementation of effective tourism strategies. Their profound understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities will be instrumental in shaping policies that benefit the entire tourism ecosystem.

SATSA is optimistic about the varied expertise and experience present on the new Board. We are confident that their collective knowledge and leadership will play a significant role in guiding South African tourism toward a successful future. We look forward to working closely with the Board to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities facing our industry, contributing to the sustainable growth of tourism in South Africa.

SATSA pledges its full support to the new Board and wishes them every success during their tenure. We are enthusiastic about the potential for enhanced cooperation between the public and private sectors and remain committed to working together to promote South Africa as a premier global destination.
