Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) is gearing up to showcase at ITB Berlin 2024, the premier international forum for the tourism and travel industry, featuring a mix of exhibitors, industry leaders, and experts. At the event, SAA will present the newest developments, services, and facilities at Sharjah Airport, emphasizing its dedication to enhancing the airport experience through significant technological upgrades and a full-scale digital overhaul.
As part of the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority’s efforts, SAA’s presence at ITB Berlin underlines its commitment to bolstering Sharjah’s role as a leading tourist and economic hub. This involves forging ties with top global companies and broadening the range of destinations accessible via Sharjah Airport. SAA’s involvement aims to boost its international profile and build relationships with key figures in the global tourism and travel industries.
H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “During our participation at ITB Berlin 2024, we are committed to reviewing the Airport’s expansion plans, services, and facilities offered to customers. The exhibition has gained an increasing global significance, attracting a larger number of participants from 165 countries worldwide this year.”
His Excellency added: “This premier trade exhibition offers us a platform to showcase Sharjah Airport’s recent accomplishments over the past year, which played a crucial role in enhancing the Airport’s capacity to meet the increasing travel needs at Sharjah Airport. During the event, we will also highlight the improvements made in the infrastructure of digital services and the amenities offered to passengers.”
This year, the Sharjah Airport Travel Agency (SATA), known for its comprehensive services including airline bookings, tailored holiday packages, cruises, hotel bookings, and worldwide visa services, will also be participating at ITB Berlin. As one of the UAE’s rapidly expanding travel agencies, SATA is looking to enhance its interactions with international firms and seek new partnership opportunities at this global gathering.
SAA’s yearly engagement in ITB Berlin plays a crucial role in its global strategy. This participation is particularly notable this year with the launch of the passenger terminal expansion project and Sharjah Airport achieving a record-breaking performance, welcoming over 15.3 million passengers in 2023.
