In Shimla in recent weeks, tourist inflow has grown a lot, bringing in new hope to the industry, which was impacted in the worst ways by landslides and floods earlier this year. Tourists from Bengal who characteristically visit Shimla at the time of the Navratri have started pouring into this hill town.
Priyanka Naskar, a Kolkata tourist while speaking to ANI, showed her happiness on coming to Shimla. She said that it’s good to be here. She also added that she is coming for the first time. They were quite afraid that there were heavy rains and floods that created this mayhem over there.
However, she added that it is very there and that they are enjoying it a lot. She would request others as well to go there and urge their Bengali community not to cancel their bookings. She wanted to visit the hills and now she is very happy to be there.
Another tourist from West Bengal, Pravir Haldar, praised the government of Himachal Pradesh’s efforts to reinstate all roads and infrastructure.
He has been visiting Shimla for quite some now but this year because of heavy rain and floods they did not cancel their visit but now they are feeling safe.
