Singapore Airlines upgrades Premium Economy with new Dining and Kits

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has revealed its updated Premium Economy Class in-flight experience, featuring an enhanced selection of food and drink options, along with a new amenity kit. These upgrades will debut on flights starting March 31, 2024.

Passengers in Premium Economy Class will now receive a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne shortly after take-off. They will also have access to a printed menu card detailing the extensive range of meals, snacks, and beverages available during the flight. Meals will be served in stylish, custom-made porcelain serviceware exclusive to Premium Economy Class.

Additionally, on flights lasting seven hours or more, a new Out of the Woods amenity kit, designed specifically for Premium Economy Class travelers, will be provided.

These updates represent the most comprehensive overhaul of SIA’s Premium Economy Class since its introduction in 2015, ensuring the airline continues to offer a unique level of service to its customers.

They appreciate the added amenities, heightened comfort, and the extra personal space it offers, all at an excellent value.

“At Singapore Airlines, though, our philosophy is to never stand still. We regularly gather customer feedback and conduct market research, learn more about the evolving value drivers for travellers, and find innovative ways to continue delivering a personalised and world-class in-flight experience.

“Based on these insights, we have undertaken this comprehensive revamp of our Premium Economy Class in-flight offerings, which we believe will delight our customers. The result reflects Singapore Airlines’ dedication to enhancing the Premium Economy Class experience to a class of its own.”

Dining Options

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has expanded its Premium Economy Class in-flight meals with over 200 new appetisers, main courses, and desserts. Each Premium Economy Class meal will include a seasonal appetiser, main course, bread, dessert, and cheese and crackers, all served on a full-sized tray.

Enhanced bread options now include croissants for breakfast or garlic bread rolls for lunch, dinner, and supper. New appetisers feature dishes like garlic roasted prawns with smoked aioli, Patatas Bravas (Spanish fried potatoes), broccoli salad with hot smoked salmon, and seasonal variations of Japanese cold noodles with soba sauce.

Passengers can choose between two premium main course options, either international or Asian cuisine, on every flight.New additions to the menu feature Beef Bourguignon served with bacon, mushrooms, vegetables, and potato gratin, Bak Chor Mee (minced pork noodles), and Thai-style Crab Curry accompanied by jasmine rice, brown rice, seasonal vegetables, and egg.

Additionally, customers can select from an expanded Book the Cook menu, with up to 20 dishes available on rotation for pre-order at least 24 hours before departure. This includes popular choices such as Singapore Style Seafood Hor Fun and Chicken Biryani, as well as new additions like Slow Braised Lamb Ragout, Sake Teriyaki (salmon in teriyaki sauce), and plant-based wellness dishes such as Mushroom Eggplant Meatballs.

For dessert, passengers can indulge in specially crafted treats like Chocolate Feuilletine Cake, Mascarpone Cream Cake, and Apple Crumble Cheesecake, accompanied by a small bar of chocolate, upgraded cheese, and crackers.

Meals will be served in contemporary stoneware glazed porcelain serviceware on linen-lined trays, with neatly tucked silverware, adding an element of sophistication to the dining experience.

To complement the meals, SIA offers a selection of wines and Champagne curated by its panel of wine experts exclusively for the Premium Economy Class cabin.Alongside the Charles de Cazanove Passengers can also choose between the 2023 Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc and the 2022 St Hallett Faith Shiraz. An array of spirits, such as whisky, gin, vodka, signature cocktails like the Singapore Sling, and a variety of beers, will also be on offer.

Non-alcoholic beverage options now include Peppermint and Chamomile teas, as well as hot chocolate from Cadbury, to complement the existing wide range of soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee, and teas.

Between meals, passengers can enjoy new snack options such as almonds and cashews, in addition to the existing variety of snacks like potato chips, assorted buns, sandwiches, muffins, and flavoured popcorn.

Introducing the Brand New Premium Economy Class In-flight Amenity Kit

Singapore Airlines (SIA) partnered with Out of the Woods, a US-based maker of eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle goods, to introduce a new amenity kit for Premium Economy Class passengers. The kit features an eco-friendly Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified kraft paper fabric pouch, containing eyeshades and slippers made from recycled PET material. Additionally, the kit includes a lip balm packaged in biodegradable material. While toiletries such as dental kits and moisturizers will still be available in the lavatory, this new kit offers a more sustainable and luxurious travel experience.
