In August 2026, airBaltic reported the year-on-year carryings growth rate of 5% reaching the number of 554,700 passengers. The qualitative growth of the airBaltic airline business was further evidenced by a 7.9% year-on-year operational growth of 4,801 flights. The demand for air travel across the Baltic region and Europe continued to grow and contributed to airBaltic’s business expansion.

The August 2026 results reflect airBaltic’s ongoing network expansion and efforts to provide stronger connections between the Baltic States and key European destinations. Despite increased capacity compared with August 2025, the airline maintained a solid load factor of 83.9%. The figure was 2.3 percentage points lower than the previous year, mainly due to the additional flight capacity introduced during the period.

During the first eight months of 2026, airBaltic achieved its highest-ever passenger volume for the January-August period. The airline carried a total of 3,567,000 passengers across its route network, representing a 4% year-on-year increase. Over the same period, airBaltic operated 33,220 flights, recording a 5.7% rise compared with the previous year.

The continued passenger growth highlights the importance of airBaltic’s network in supporting tourism, business travel and economic connections throughout the Baltic region. By linking Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania with major European markets, the airline plays a significant role in improving international accessibility for travellers and businesses.

airBaltic is also preparing for further expansion with the launch of its Summer 2027 flight programme. The upcoming schedule will offer 57 direct destinations from Riga, 13 from Tallinn and eight from Vilnius, strengthening connections between the Baltic capitals and popular European destinations.

The Summer 2027 programme will include flights to major business and leisure cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, London, Munich, Paris, Rome and Stockholm. The expanded network is expected to provide travellers with more convenient options for international journeys while supporting continued growth in tourism and commerce across the region.

With increasing passenger volumes, expanded flight operations and a broader future schedule, airBaltic continues to strengthen its position as a major aviation connector in Northern Europe. The airline remains focused on delivering convenient travel options and improving connectivity between the Baltic States and destinations across Europe and beyond.
