Ryanair, the leading airline in Europe, announced today (16 Feb) the introduction of special rescue fares starting at only €24.99. This offer is aimed at accommodating travelers impacted by the recent announcement from Wizz Air, which involves further cancellations of numerous routes connecting Albania, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain.

This follows on the heels of Wizz Air’s unexpected cancellation of 21 routes linked to Hungary, Romania, Luxembourg, Serbia, and Slovenia, along with the withdrawal of 5 aircraft based in Poland and the cancellation of 19 Polish routes. These actions are part of a series of cutbacks, indicating a reduction in the airline’s operations.

Routes eligible for Ryanair’s Rescue Fare

Tirana – Venice
Milan – Porto
Rome – Krakow
Catania – Frankfurt Hahn
Paris – Catania
Valencia – Wrocław

Ryanair’s Head of Comms, Jade Kirwan said:
“While Wizz Air continues to shrink, cutting both routes and aircraft across Europe, Ryanair – Europe’s most reliable and low fare airline – is saving the day yet again, offering rescue fares from just €24.99 for Wizz Air passengers affected by this latest round of sudden cancellations.
