Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, has declared that Jane P. Chappell will be appointed to its Board of Directors, with her term starting on February 26, 2024. She is set to contribute to the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee as well as the Risk Committee. With a robust career spanning over forty years, including 17 years in executive roles, Chappell brings a wealth of operational and strategic expertise in the defense sector to the table.
“Jane Chappell is an established leader in the American defense and intelligence sectors; we are thrilled that she will serve on Spirit’s Board of Directors,” said Spirit AeroSystems Board Chair Robert D. Johnson. “Her leadership and depth of experience are unparalleled – she will undoubtedly add tremendous value as we grow across our defense and space programs. We look forward to her contributions.”
Currently, Chappell is the CEO of Altamira Technologies, a company focused on national security within the defense and intelligence realms. She also holds a position on the Board of Advisors for Lone Star Analysis. Prior to her tenure at Altamira, Chappell dedicated 36 years to RTX Corporation (previously known as Raytheon), concluding her time there as the Vice President of GeoSpatial Intelligence Solutions from 2015 to 2019. In this role, she played a pivotal role in market development and growth acceleration within the intelligence, commercial, and international space ground sectors.
Chappell’s contributions to the industry have been recognized widely, earning her spots on Washington Exec’s Top Space Executives in 2023 and Washingtonian’s list of “Tech Titans in 2023.” Her work has also been honored with prestigious awards, including the National Reconnaissance Office Director and Ground Enterprise Directorate Director’s Gold medal in both 2020 and 2019 for her significant contributions, as well as the Raytheon CEO Leadership Award in 2008.
