Spirit Airlines Soars High: New Impact Report Reveals Strides in DEI&B Strategy

Today, Spirit Airlines released its most recent Impact Report on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEI&B), highlighting the airline’s recent initiatives to promote its DEI&B strategy and achieve measurable outcomes in terms of representation, policy development, and fostering a sense of belonging. Throughout 2023, Spirit initiated a comprehensive goal-setting process for DEI&B, aimed at making substantial progress in community engagement, inclusive incentives, representation, and cultivating an inclusive workplace environment.

The 2023 DEI&B report demonstrates Spirit’s advancement towards a more inclusive future by highlighting significant progress points from 2023, including:

• Elevating 491 Team Members from historically underrepresented backgrounds, comprising 67% of all promotions in 2023.
• Surpassing the Supplier Diversity Program investment target by 14%, with over $97 million of Spirit’s yearly expenditure allocated to diverse suppliers.
• Empowering Team Members with essential leadership skills and ensuring equal career advancement opportunities through initiatives like the Leadership Accelerator and Leadership Altitude programs.
• Introducing the Women’s Leadership Roundtable to encourage open dialogue on the distinct opportunities and challenges faced by women in the aviation sector.
