SriLankan Airlines’ innovative culinary initiative, ‘SriLankan Flavours,’ captivated the judges at the APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) and IFSA (International Flight Services Association) Global Expo. “SriLankan Flavours,” was found to be irresistible and gave the campaign the 2024 IFSA Best Inflight Food or Beverage Innovation Award.
SriLankan Flavours is a delectable addition to the nation’s culinary legacy served onboard SriLankan Airlines. It also serves as a symbol of the close relationship between the airline and the country, making the onboard experience unmistakably Sri Lankan in every way.
Maria Sathasivam, Manager of Product Development at SriLankan Airlines, went on to elaborate on the rationale behind SriLankan Flavours stating that this campaign was conceived to emphasize Sri Lankan cuisine as a distinctive element in their product lineup.
She says, “The menu introductions presented Sri Lankan food as fuelling the mind, body and soul and showcase what our island nation has to offer the ‘culinary adventurer.’ The selection of dishes also highlights Sri Lanka’s multi-faceted and multicultural history which has influenced Sri Lanka’s food story.”
