SRTC’s budget tourism division launches Nalambala Yatra

SRTC’s division of budget tourism has introduced Nalambala Yatra. It is a yearly pilgrimage trip to
several temples from Kollam depot in the course of the sacred month of Karkkidakam.


Buses are going to leave from Kollam on July 28, 30, August 6, 12 and 13. The package for touring
Ramapuram Sree Rama Temple, Amanakara Sree Bharatha Temple, Methiri Shatrughna Temple and Koodappulam Lakshmana Temple will be priced at Rs. 620 for each person.


The charge is Rs. 850 for going to temples at Thiruvaranamula, Thripuliyoor, Thrichittatt, Thrikkodithanam and Thiruvanvandoor. The program comprises Aranmula Vallasadya and an excursion to see the creation of aranmula kannadi, which is the traditional handcrafted metal mirror.

The division would hold tours to St. Alphonsa Pilgrim Center on July 28 and August 19, which comprises the churches of Kudamaloor, Bharananganam and Nettichira. The trip is planned to leave at 5 a.m. and
come back in the evening. The tariff is Rs. 710 for every person.


Among other packages from the depot are July 27 tours to Gavi and Wayanad. The Wayanad tour will
encompass the key tourist places of Wayanad from July 28 to 30 and coming back on July 31. The charge will be Rs. 4,100 comprising admission ticket, lodging and jungle expedition. There would also be inexpensive tours on July 29 and 30 to Munnar and Ambanad-Palaruvi Yatra.


The two-day outing to Munnar is priced at Rs. 1,450 comprising lodging. The charge for the recently
introduced Ambanad Hills-Palaruvi journey is Rs. 770.
