Radisson, Starwood,

London: Starwood Capital acquires 10 Edwardian Group hotels in a private deal. Portfolio adds to Starwood’s 47 hotels across Europe. Edwardian retains The Londoner.

Starwood Capital Group, a renowned global investment firm with a focus on real estate, has today disclosed its acquisition of a collection of 10 hotels from Edwardian Group through a private, off-market deal. The financial details of the purchase remain undisclosed.

This collection includes 10 hospitality establishments, offering a total of 2,053 rooms. Post-acquisition, Edwardian Group will retain ownership and management of The Londoner, along with its two Radisson Collection hotels, The May Fair and The Edwardian Manchester.

In conjunction with this acquisition, Starwood Capital and Edwardian Group have agreed to explore further collaborative ventures in the future. Edwardian Group is set to manage the newly acquired properties temporarily as Starwood Capital devises long-term investment strategies for these hotels.

This acquisition represents a significant expansion of Starwood Capital’s hotel portfolio in Europe, which, after this transaction, will consist of 47 hotels with approximately 10,000 rooms across the continent.

Tim Abram, Managing Director at Starwood Capital, commented: “Acquiring this exclusive collection of prime Central London hotels is a thrilling opportunity for us. Given London’s status as a premier global hotel destination, this acquisition offers us a remarkable chance to scale our presence in this market. We’re committed to substantial capital investment to further elevate these properties during our tenure.”

Inderneel Singh, CEO of Edwardian Group, remarked: “The divestiture of these properties, following the successful launch of The Londoner and robust performance across our portfolio, enables us to realign our focus and gear up for future growth phases.”

He added, “Our trio of flagship properties – The Londoner, The May Fair Hotel, and The Edwardian Manchester – reflect our ongoing dedication to investing in and offering unique, luxury experiences in strategically located, bespoke city-center hotels.”

For this transaction, JLL rendered real estate advisory services, while Baker McKenzie offered legal counsel to Edwardian Group. Starwood Capital was represented legally by Paul Hastings (Europe) LLP.

The hotels involved in the transaction are:

  1. Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel
