Following a thorough competitive market assessment, Swissport, a leading ground handling company on a global scale, has entered into a partnership as the inaugural customer for CHAMP Cargosystems’ state-of-the-art cargo management solution, Cargospot-neo. With nearly two decades of partnership with Cargospot, this collaboration heralds an exciting new chapter for both entities.

Swissport, renowned for its cargo operations spanning 286 airports across 44 countries and six continents, will leverage CHAMP’s Cargospot-neo Handling services renowned for their openness, intuitiveness, and adaptability. Additionally, Swissport and CHAMP will jointly develop three new modules as part of this endeavor.

Cargospot-neo Handling introduces comprehensive automation throughout cargo handling processes, incorporating Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI), alongside cutting-edge mobile applications. These innovations are projected to enhance warehouse efficiencies by up to 30% for Swissport.

Integrated within CHAMP’s unified neo-platform, Swissport will seamlessly access other CHAMP services such as Traxon Global Customs and Traxon Global Security, equipped with integrated dashboards providing actionable insights, enabling rapid responses to unforeseen circumstances.

Cargospot-neo Handling is future-proofed with ONE Record enablement, facilitating enhanced information sharing within CHAMP’s extensive airline community via CHAMP’s 1Neo-Connect Super Node.

Swissport’s journey of transformation is enhanced by incorporating three modules: Task Manager, Customer Portal, and Mobile Service Point.

Aligned in their dedication to innovation and collaboration, Swissport and CHAMP are well-positioned to launch Cargospot-neo Handling, delivering high-quality solutions.

Swissport’s global cargo handling operations stand to benefit from digitized workflows, standardized processes, enhanced collaboration, and simplified IT infrastructure within a unified platform. These advancements promise increased productivity, deeper operational insights, and ultimately, an elevated customer experience.

“At Swissport we are driving an ambitious technology acceleration program and are relentlessly committed to innovation and customer-centric solutions to differentiate ourselves from our competitors,” says Dirk Goovaerts, Global Cargo Chair and CEO of Swissport International for the CEMEA region. “While the current data exchange in our air cargo centers relies on messaging, the future holds the potential for dynamic, bi-directional API connections with our customers and partners in the air cargo value chain, marking a significant enhancement in our technological infrastructure.”

Chris McDermott, CEO of CHAMP Cargosystems, said “The launch of Cargospot-neo presents tremendous opportunities for air cargo operators like Swissport who are looking to deliver a world-class customer experience and work with cutting-edge technologies. We have enjoyed a fruitful 20-year relationship which has enabled us to collaborate on this launch, and we look forward to many more mutually beneficial years to come.”
