The Canadian company Taiga Motors Corporation, traded as TAIG on the Toronto Stock Exchange, is advancing its role as a pioneer in powersport electrification by broadening its reach across Swedish ski resorts. Following the successful introduction of its electric snowmobiles at SkiStar in Sälen, Sweden, in April 2022, Taiga is now enhancing ski resort experiences with its acclaimed NomadTM snowmobile at other renowned locations including Idre Fjäll, BranäsGruppen, Hemavan Alpint, and the utility provider Skellefteå Kraft.

Sweden’s commitment to electric vehicle (EV) integration extends beyond its roadways, influencing the winter sports sector significantly. Swedish consumers, noted for their environmental consciousness, particularly favor ski resorts that actively pursue eco-friendly practices.

In 2022, SkiStar, Scandinavia’s leading ski resort operator, trialed Taiga’s electric snowmobiles, a move aligning with its ambition for a net-zero climate impact by 2030. Stefan Sjöstrand, CEO of SkiStar, is excited about augmenting their electric snowmobile fleet from Taiga, emphasizing its groundbreaking technology and the enhanced, sustainable experience it offers guests.

Sam Bruneau, CEO and co-founder of Taiga, expressed appreciation for SkiStar’s continued confidence in their brand. The testing at SkiStar’s facilities has been instrumental in showcasing the Nomad’s capabilities, and Taiga is eager to assist other resorts in electrifying their vehicle fleets.

Nomad stands out as the first widely available 100% electric snowmobile, revolutionizing mountain and ski resort operations. This sport-utility snowmobile operates silently and emission-free, preserving the serene natural environment without the disturbances of noise or exhaust. Its maintenance-free powertrain, along with the absence of fuel or oil requirements, makes it an economically viable choice in the long term.

Moreover, Nomad’s functional design includes a battery that fully charges in three hours using a 220V charger, or reaches 80% charge in roughly 40 minutes with DC Fast Charge technology. It offers a range of up to 100km and an impressive towing capacity of 511 kilograms (1,125 pounds)1.

Taiga snowmobiles are a cost-efficient choice for fleet owners, offering a 12% reduction in total ownership costs, a 78% decrease in operating costs, and an 86% reduction in emissions over five years*.

Mattias Höglund, Chairman and co-owner of Motorbutiken Klövsjö, proudly announced their status as the first Swedish rental service to provide customers with guided or independent tours on their electric Nomad snowmobile fleet.
