TAT teams up with HBO for ‘The White Lotus’ season 3 filming in Thailand

Thailand Tourism Authority (TAT) joyfully announces that HBO acclaimed series, The White Lotus, Season 3, will feature Thailand as its primary backdrop. Filming is set to commence in February across Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said “We are honoured to have amazing Thailand featured as the filming location for the highly anticipated upcoming season of The White Lotus. The kingdom’s exotic natural beauty, rich historical sites and diverse landscapes are the perfect settings to share our fascinating culture, fantastic cuisine, top-notch wellness and luxury offerings, and most importantly our people and Thai hospitality. Thailand has long been considered one of the world’s favourited filming locations.”

TAT has collaborated with HBO for filming and promoting The White Lotus Season 3 in Thailand, featuring Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, along with two Thai actors, Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong.

“We are pleased to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to execute Mike’s creative vision and showcase all that the beautiful country of Thailand has to offer, as the next group of guests check in to the White Lotus,” Janet Graham Borba, Executive Vice President of Production for HBO & Max, said in a statement.

Created by Mike White, who also serves as executive producer and director, along with David Bernad and Mark Kamine as executive producers, “The White Lotus” premiered in 2021, set in Hawaii. Season one earned 20 Emmy nominations and secured 10 wins, including Best Limited or Anthology Series. The second season, set in Sicily and premiered in December 2022, is nominated for 23 Emmys, including Best Drama Series. The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled to air on Fox on January 15, 2024.

The White Lotus Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on HBO in 2025.
