Australia-based TFE Hotels has expanded its international presence by signing an agreement to manage five hotels in New Zealand, further strengthening its global portfolio.

In partnership with New Zealand hotel owner Heritage Hotels, TFE will take over management of five properties, adding over 500 rooms to its managed portfolio. These hotels will be rebranded under TFE’s brand, aiming to enhance visibility and attract more guests to the hospitality assets.
The agreement includes two Auckland hotels, Adina CityLife and Rendezvous Heritage Auckland. In Wellington, the CityLife property will offer long-stay, apartment-style accommodations, while another Rendezvous Heritage hotel in Christchurch adds to the portfolio. Additionally, Queenstown’s Rendezvous Heritage hotel features 175 rooms and meeting/event facilities, further expanding TFE’s presence in key tourist destinations.

Jeffrey Tang, Managing Director of Heritage Hotels, highlighted the reasoning behind the partnership: “TFE Hotels is an owner, manager, and developer with an impressive presence in multiple markets. With over 50 properties in Australia, a strong development pipeline, and ties to Singapore and Europe, their vision aligns with ours.” Heritage Hotels operates ten properties in New Zealand and will continue managing five independently.
This strategic move comes as New Zealand’s tourism industry rebounds post-pandemic, with over 3.2 million international visitors recorded by June 2024, up from 2.5 million the previous year. TFE aims to capitalize on the strong tourism growth and the sizable influx of Australian tourists, who represent more than one-third of all international arrivals.

TFE Hotels is also ramping up its domestic portfolio. The company is set to open the 102-room Eve boutique hotel in Sydney, followed by the Hannah Street hotel in Melbourne in late 2025. This Melbourne development represents a significant investment of AUD 150 million, further cementing TFE’s stronghold in Australia.
TFE Hotels has been actively growing in Europe, where it has operated for the past 15 years. The company runs properties in 12 cities across Germany, Austria, Denmark, and Hungary, primarily under its Adina aparthotel brand. Looking ahead, TFE will introduce its premium A by Adina brand in Vienna in 2025. The new property will feature 108 studio and two-bedroom apartments in the Danubeflats tower, offering stunning views of the Danube River and city skyline.
With continued growth in both the Australasian and European markets, TFE Hotels is poised for further international success.
