Srettha Thavisin, the Prime Minister of Thailand, is interested on the holidaymakers from India that would help in boosting up tourism of this southeast Asian country, even as it plans to introduce visa waivers for Kazakhstan and Chinese tourists in the busy holiday season.

Srettha also mentioned that this year, he would visit to India and meet with Mr. Narendra Modi and talk about the ways of growing flight frequency between Thailand and India, like more services by Thai Airways International Pcl, the flag carrier of the country.

Still from India, there aren’t too many incoming flights due to internal problems if politics. Srettha also said in a recent interview on Monday that he hopes to visit before the end of 2023 to negotiate on the proposed matter.

Also, Thailand may consider other measures to improve the arrival level of Indian tourists to Thailand like providing tax exemptions on jewelry that are imported for Indian weddings taking place in Thailand, a famous place for such ceremonies, he said. He said by now, Indian tourists can simply get Thai visas, a visa waiver may not be required.

A week after his cabinet accepted exemptions of temporary visa for Chinese and Kazakh tourists, Srettha’s comment came in.
