Latest reports say that Thailand has already seen 2 million visitors in the first half of 2022, which is an indicator of stable increase of its tourism industry after being suffering significantly due to the pandemic.

Nonetheless, Thailand’s hotels, private hospitals and businesses are now refraining from offering large discounts to lure tourists, and focus on increasing the country’s worth as a first-rate travel destination.

Referring to this, Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand Deputy Prime Minister said that they cannot allow people visit Thailand and say that it is low-priced.

As an alternative, they should say that it is reasonable, and that would increase the country’s value.

Thailand is among Asia’s most admired tourist destinations and it had witnessed almost 40 million visitors before the pandemic in 2019, setting a record.

The visitors spent around USD 53.53 billion, which is equal to 11 percent of gross domestic product.

The arrivals dropped to 6.7 million in 2020, which further dropped to 428000 in 2021, in spite of calibrated moves to stop quarantine necessities.

As per reports, Thailand is anticipating 10 million foreign arrivals this year.

Thailand started a long-standing visa programme in the beginning of this year for well spending foreigners and workers who have considerable experience, sticking to its plan to lure high-spending visitors, irrespective of major businesses going through financial losses in the course of the pandemic.
