Ahead of the Chinese New Year, a significant holiday that marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle on Saturday, February 10th, Thailand is ramping up its safety measures. This proactive initiative, especially in Bang Lamung district, comes in anticipation of a surge in tourist activity, with Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai being the top picks for many visitors, particularly those from China.

The district’s officials, led by District Chief Wekit Manarotkit, have taken to the streets, specifically targeting areas bustling with entertainment venues, to engage directly with business operators.

The primary focus of these early-morning patrols was to ensure that all venues were up to par with the required safety protocols, including the availability of efficient emergency evacuation plans and proper safety equipment.

The move underscores the importance of preparedness in the face of potential emergencies, emphasizing the need for businesses to prioritise the safety of both local and international patrons during this peak holiday season.

This period of the Lunar New Year is traditionally a time for familial reverence, with many paying respects to ancestors before embarking on vacations. It’s a time when cultural and familial ties draw people back to their roots, but it’s also a season when the allure of travel brings a significant number of Chinese tourists beyond their borders.

Thailand, with its array of attractions, has long been a favored destination. The country’s authorities are thus making concerted efforts to ensure that the expected influx of tourists can enjoy the festivities and the beauty of Thailand without any safety concerns.

In doing so, Thailand not only aims to protect its visitors but also to solidify its reputation as a top destination that values the well-being of its guests. By fostering a safe environment, the country looks forward to welcoming tourists from around the globe to celebrate the Lunar New Year, promising them a memorable and secure experience.
