At the start of May, in spite of simplifying restrictions related to entry in Thailand, with eliminating PCR testing on arrival, the tourism of this Asian country is not hoping high. As per a Bangkok Post report, the operators of tourism are pretty worried on issues that have made them unsure about any revival, whatsoever.

The risk of new variants is main cause of concern and the way the government might take an action based on that. From the Thai government, businesses are interested to acquire a clear plan that would make sure the mistakes that were in the last two years are not repeated in anyway. Several policy changes, U-turns and insincere border re-opening schemes have made Thailand tourism operators annoying.

Prior to the arrival of the Test & Go scheme in November, in Phuket, Thailand first re-opened itself with its pilot “sandbox” programme in July 2021. Tourism recovery has been wavering from the time of the introduction of the Test & Go scheme, as per Sisdivachr Cheewarattanaporn, from the Association of Thai Travel Agents.
