After an exceptional year in tourism with a 45% increase in cruise visitors, exceeding 9.6 million, The Bahamas is set to capitalize on this growth with numerous tourism-related initiatives at the upcoming Seatrade Cruise Global Conference. This event will take place from April 8th to 11th, 2024, at The Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida. The delegation from The Bahamas will be led by The Honourable I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. Together with government and tourism industry leaders, they will participate in crucial meetings aimed at boosting the nation’s cruise industry.

During the four-day conference, participants will have the chance to discover what sets The Bahamas apart as a top cruise destination, from innovative features to engaging excursions. The Bahamas Pavilion will be a hive of activity, showcasing the latest in cruise developments, infrastructure improvements, new tourist attractions, and upcoming projects designed to enhance both the arrival and the overall experience for cruise guests. Key destination partners such as Nassau Cruise Port, Bimini Cruise Port, Freeport Shipping Company, Grand Bahama Port Authority, and The Bahamas Maritime Authority will present updates to Seatrade cruise industry attendees.

“The Bahamas is surging as a top-tier cruise destination, and at the Seatrade Global Conference, we stand on the threshold of unprecedented opportunities,” said Cooper. “Seatrade is the ideal environment to amplify our growth and success, forge dynamic partnerships, seek out new ventures and gain valuable industry insights. The most innovative thinking about the future of the cruise industry will be on full display, with connections to further enhance the expansion of our cruise business.”

Additionally, two major events will receive sponsorship from The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation: the CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) Business on The Bay event, taking place at the Perez Art Museum Miami on Monday, April 8th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the FCCA (Florida Caribbean Cruise Association) Foundation Dinner, scheduled at the Fontainebleau Restaurant on Tuesday, April 9th, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Seatrade Cruise Global is the cruise industry’s leading annual business-to-business event, attracting over 10,000 registered attendees, featuring more than 600 exhibitors, and drawing participation from over 80 cruise line brands and attendees from more than 120 countries worldwide.
