Victoria Falls has gone through an amazing growth in tourism with 20 percent overall increases in terms of revenue with 18 new properties were developed since the start of the year.
This was mentioned by outgoing Victoria Falls Mayor, Councilor Sifiso Mpofu, who is simultaneously a tour operator in the main resort town of the country. At the brilliant ceremony of approximately $1.2 billion project, councilor Mpofu was delivering a speech for the construction of a Grand Prix, Medical resort, convention center and shopping mall led by Feonirich of Dubai on Sunday.
The huge project will have modern conference facilities, a seven-star hotel, updated medical center and motor racing arena. It would be constructed on 271 hectare of land between Victoria Fall airport and Masue River.
Clr Mpofu explained that the new privilege had drawn lot of foreign investment in the country. He also mentioned that on January and February, the accommodation and activities in the resort exceeded the record of 25 years.
To quote the clr, “since the inception of the new dispensation, potential investors are committing themselves to the country. Occupancies for January 2018 indicated a 22 percent increase, making it the second best for the same month in 25 years and equally, in the month of February, occupancies were up 24 percent making it the best in 25 years.”
