In line with its vision to transform Kerala into a comprehensive experiential destination year-round, the state Tourism Department has approved Administrative Sanction for nine projects totaling Rs 7,55,43,965 aimed at enhancing infrastructure for hosting visitors. These initiatives, once implemented, will significantly augment capacity and introduce novel features to several promising locations across Kozhikode, Kannur, Palakkad, and Thrissur districts.

“Together, these projects will help enhance the capacity of various attractive sites at a time
when tourist footfall in the state has been steadily increasing. Completion of these projects
will further establish Kerala as an integrated tourism destination that offers diverse choices
to visitors,” Tourism Minister Shri PA Mohamed Riyas said.

The decision will bring benefits to various sites in Kannur district, including Peralassery River View Park, Parapram regulator-cum-bridge (costing Rs. 99,21,324), and Thalassery Fort Walk (costing Rs. 99,99,999). In Kozhikode district, several projects will be undertaken: the Eco-Tourism Project, Nambikkulam (costing Rs. 72,32,600), Fulcrum Sand Banks for the Sargalaya Integrated Tourism Circuit (costing Rs. 60,00,000), Renovation of Ansari Park in Kozhikode city (costing Rs. 99,99,999), Beautification of Kavumkulam Pond at Kadalundi, Beypore (costing Rs. 99,16,324), and Renovation of the boat jetty at Akalapuzha in Koyilandi (costing Rs. 49,74,719). Additionally, schemes include Vatika Sila Park in Palakkad (costing Rs. 75,00,000) and Renovation of Nehru Park in Thrissur (costing Rs. 99,99,000). These initiatives aim to enhance Kerala’s reputation in sunrise segments such as river-based hospitality, ecotourism, and heritage site visits, aligning closely with the government’s strategy for sustainable and inclusive destination development.
