In the Greek island of Rhodes, tourists at a beach hotel snatched up pails of pool water and damp towels as flames move toward, speeding up to assist the locals and staff members put out one of the wildfires intimidating the locales of Mediterranean during recent heatwaves catastrophe.
Some unsettled visitors, the next morning, cut short their holiday but most of them stayed back as the resort weren’t destroyed completely in the small brush fire outside its grounds.
The Greek island famous for dazzling seashores and old sites is nurturing its cuts after 11 days of destructive wildfires that happened in July.
After thousands of people were abandoned in the busy summers, Rhodes is weighing the way the crisis will impact its tourism which stimulates most of its financial system and 20% of Greece’s.
For Italy and Spain, it’s the same where the tourism sector is being hit by wildfires and heatwaves as well.
Italy, Algeria, Greece, and Tunisia lost over 1,350 square kilometers in a combined way to blazes.
