Tourism revenue of Jordan rises high

For the economy of Jordan, the tourism industry has continued to play a vital part, as in the first half of 2023, the country recorded $3.45 billion in revenues. This marked a 59.4 percent growth in the same time 2022.  


This comes as the Arab nation in the first six months of 2023 welcomed more than 3 million visitors. As per Petra, Jordan News Agency, this helped in registering a rise of 60.2 percent. The agency reported the same citing data from the central bank of the country. 


Statistics showed that in June 2023, tourism alone reached $630 million. This marked a 28.8 percent growth compared to the same time in 2022. 


In addition, the citizens of Jordan and their spending related to travel activities in other countries increased by almost 46.6 percent and reached $905.5 million in the first half of 2023, compared to the same time 2022. 


In June 2023, Expenditure peaked at $209.2 million. This created a record 41 percent growth compared to the same time last year. 


The tourism income of Jordan increased to almost 88.4 percent in the first quarter of this year from the same time in the year before to reach $1.671 billion following a distinguished boost up in tourism arrivals.
